The POS Foundation, facilitators have donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Nsawam Female Prison.
Project Officer for the Women Empowerment Project, Juliana Edzii Abokuma who spoke on behalf of the Executive Director, Jonathan Osei Owusu during a media briefing after the donated commended the President for granting amnesty to 794 prisoners.
She further called on the President to grant amnesty to convicted non-violent drug users to aid in decongestant prisons in Ghana.
CSP Janet Asabea who received the items on behalf of the Female Prison was grateful to the POS Foundation for the donation and called it a timely intervention amid COVID-19.
She called on the government and benevolent organizations to come to their aid to get them an isolation center for new admissions and persons with suspected cases.
Items donated to the Prisons included Face Shields, hand sanitizers, Automatic Hand washing Machine, Tissues, Vitamin C.
250 nose masks were donated to the Prison by the Foundation on behalf of Nana Churcher Foundation in UK.
