The President of the Ghana Rice Interpersonal Body(GRIB) Nana Adjei Ayeh II has said that rice farmers are preparing to meet the demand for rice consumption by 2023.

According to him, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture has increased rice seeds given to rice farmers hence all things being equal, the production of rice by the year 2023 is expected to meet the high demands for rice consumption in the country and possible export of rice.
Speaking during a National Rice Value Chain Engagement, Nana Asked Ayeh II mentioned that the production and consumption of the Ghana rice has increased a lot after the President directed Ghanaians to consume the local rice.
He added that, the Ghana Rice Inter-personal Body through program seeks to collaborate rice farmers and state institutions to develop measures that will encourage the nationwide adoption of Ghana rice as well as address challenges associates with rice farming.
A policy advisor at the John A Kuffour,(JAK) Foundation, Nana Ama Oppong-Duah on her part said that the National Rice Value Chain Engagement which brings together stakeholders will improve rice quality for consumption.
Nana Ama Oppong-Duah, also pledged the that the Foundation will support value chain actors to forge closer ties to address challenges in the rice sector, as well as create a conducive environment.
